ucf logoORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 18 UCF women’s soccer team extended its win streak to nine-straight matches in impeccable fashion with a 3-0 shutout over rival USF in Tampa on Friday night.An own goal was recorded in the first 19 minutes to put the Knights on the board. The Knights 12-2-0, 5-0-0 AAC snuck one more in before halftime when senior Tatiana Coleman found junior Ashley Spivey in the 40th minute, marking the third of the last four matches that Spivey has scored in.Coleman notched a goal of her own in the 42nd minute after receiving a cross from junior Amanda Wilkin and connected from 6 yards out. Coleman’s three points accounted for her ninth-straight point-scoring match, tying the school record set in 1995 by Amy Jones.Goalkeeper Connie Organ matched her career high in saves with six to keep the Knights’ third-straight shutout intact.UCF returns to the pitch on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Temple before meeting UConn in Storrs, Connecticut, on Oct. 18 at noon.UCF soccer is presented by Napleton’s Volkswagen.
