OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (July 25, 2013) — The US Youth Soccer National Championships, presented by the National Guard, continued Thursday with the third day of round robin play at the Overland Park Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan. With every team now having played two preliminary games, several of Friday’s matches will be pivotal to determining who will advance to this weekend’s finals.
Teams earn three points for a win and one point for a tie. At the conclusion of Friday’s round robin play, the top two teams in the U-13, U-14 and U-19 age groups, as well as the two pool winners in the U-15 through U-18 age groups, will advance to play for the National Championship this weekend.
All of the teams competing in Overland Park earned their place in the national championships via success in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series or the US Youth Soccer National League.
