Rachel Price among dead in fiery Osceola crash

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fiery crash that took the lives of two Brevard County residents – including a Eckerd College women’s soccer team member – late Thursday in Osceola County.

Troopers confirmed that Rachel Price, 18, West Melbourne and Jamaree Cook, 19, Palm Bay, were both killed when a pickup suddenly pulled in front of them on U.S. 192 just east of St. Cloud.

Investigators said a 2002 Ford truck driven by Randall Kerley, 47, was travelling westbound while the 2003 Hyundai driven by Price was going eastbound.

“The pickup driver made a left turn onto Old Melbourne Highway and part of the Hyundai came apart with a portion of the front end going under the pickup truck and the rest going airborne,” said Kim Montes, spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol. more
