Palm Beach Central advances to regional semifinal

The party kicked off early at Palm Beach Central.

As the second-ranked Broncos scored three times in the first half of a Class 5A regional quarterfinal against West Boca Raton, a crowd of 30 Central students – mostly baseball players – got hyped up.

When Central (19-1) finished a 4-0 win, they turned the parking lot into a party: blasting hip hop from a pickup truck, dancing with Central players, and celebrating like they’d won a World Cup.

They oohed and aahed throughout the game over senior Yulie Lopez, the Florida State-bound forward with a vast array of dazzling moves. She scored a goal and had two assists, and West Boca simply couldn’t contain her. more
