Powered by sophomore Abby Kastroll’s four goals, the Community School girls soccer team shut out Canterbury School 8-0 at the Seahawks home pitch in Class 1A regional quarterfinal action on Wednesday night.
When Kastroll scored her fourth and CSN’s final goal with 26:20 remaining in the second half, the match was ended, as officials cited the mercy rule.
It was the third such time in three postseason matches that the Seahawks have mercied their opponent. Community has outscored its opponents 24-0 in those games.
The Seahawks (15-3), who defeated the Cougars 8-0 in the regional quarterfinals last season, will meet Evangelical Christian on Saturday at home in the regional semifinal. more
