Kasun Garners NSCAA All-Southeast Region Team Honors

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Freshman Ally Kasun (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS) of the FGCU women’s soccer team has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Southeast Region Second Team.

Kasun is the only player from the Atlantic Sun Conference and one of four freshmen to be named to the second team.

After helping FGCU to an impressive 7-1-1 record in conference play, Kasun was the only unanimous selection to the A-Sun All-Conference first team as well as being named the A-Sun Tournament MVP. She is second on the team in points (21), goals (7) and third in assists (7). Her most recent goal came in the A-Sun Tournament Championship against Mercer in overtime which gave the Eagles an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.

The FGCU women’s soccer team ended the 2012 campaign with a program-best 14-4-3 overall record, while also claiming its third-straight A-Sun regular season title and back-to-back A-Sun tournament championships. more
