Sharks Picked to Finish Sixth in SSC

WINTER PARK, Fla.  The Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team was picked to finish sixth in the preseason poll, as announced by the Sunshine State Conference office, Wednesday.

The Sharks, who finished sixth in the conference a season ago, have a lot of youth with them this season. Thirteen freshmen join NSU but the Sharks do bring back key players from last year’s roster.

Malin Broberg (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) led the way for the Sharks last season, scoring seven goals and tallying four assists and was named to the NSCAA All-Region Team.  Other key returners for the Sharks this year are defender Dilja Olafsdottir (Jr., Reykjavik, Iceland), who was named Second-Team All-Region and goalkeeper Michelle Fuerst (Sr., Armonk, N.Y.), who played significant minutes in goal for the Sharks last season. more
